Visual Studio Setup

Visual Studio (full IDE) can connect to MCP servers through MCP-compatible extensions.

How to Find the Configuration File

Create the file in your solution root:

Windows:

notepad .vs\mcp.json

If the .vs folder doesn't exist, create it first.

Option 2: User Settings

The location varies by Visual Studio version: - Windows: %APPDATA%\Microsoft\VisualStudio\<version>\mcp.json - Check your Visual Studio version and navigate to the corresponding folder
