Best Practices¶
1. Descriptive Content¶
Write memories with sufficient context:
❌ Bad:
✅ Good:
"We decided to use TypeScript for the main project due to its static typing, better IDE tooling support, and ability to catch errors at compile time. This decision was made after evaluating JavaScript, TypeScript, and Python."
2. Consistent Metadata¶
Use a consistent metadata schema:
{
"category": "decision",
"date": "2024-01-15",
"tags": ["architecture", "typescript"],
"author": "john",
"status": "approved"
}
3. Organization by Collections¶
Don't mix different types of information in one collection:
❌ Bad:
✅ Good:
4. Regular Updates¶
Update memories when information changes:
curl -X POST https://akashic-mcp.com/mcp \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-H "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_TOKEN" \
-d '{"jsonrpc":"2.0","method":"tools/call","params":{"name":"memory","arguments":{"action":"update","id":"mem-123","collection_name":"project-notes","content":"Updated content with new information","metadata":{"last_updated":"2024-01-20"}}},"id":1}'
5. Periodic Cleanup¶
Delete obsolete memories:
curl -X POST https://akashic-mcp.com/mcp \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-H "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_TOKEN" \
-d '{"jsonrpc":"2.0","method":"tools/call","params":{"name":"memory","arguments":{"action":"delete","id":"mem-123","collection_name":"project-notes"}},"id":1}'
